I don't teach my pupils, I provide
conditions in which they can learn.
Feel and Presentation is what matters to the horse for a positive outcome and relationship for both the horse and the human. You could call this Feel and Presentation, the ‘horse’s language”.
Reba shows some of the riding style she learned from her Dad!
All a horse has to go on is feel and self-preservation. So if things are not presented to a horse in a way that he can understand the feel being presented to him, self-preservation kicks in. This is where a horse takes to bucking, running off, kicking, striking etc. This is where you see all the actions of a troubled horse. We don’t want any part of that. When people do not understand FEEL, they try to operate with FORCE, and the horse does not want any part of that. If a person goes out and gathers a bunch of knowledge and terminology about how a horse operates and thinks – it will mean nothing to the horse UNLESS it is presented with a FEEL that the horse can understand. The human is opinion, the horse is fact. It is our desire to help people to learn Feel and Presentation. We are offering horsemanship lessons on an hourly basis with your own horse.
Stay tuned for information about upcoming clinics...
